Jungle Navigation Company
Dr. Albert Falls opened the Jungle Navigation Company in 1911, it was a shipping company that intended to make transporting cargo through tricky jungle rivers around the world more feasible. The JNC headquarters would become his home, and a place for him to entertain members of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. He had a special meeting room located in his library for this very purpose.
Alberta, Albert's granddaughter, inherited the Jungle Navigation Co. from her grandfather and looked to the skippers of the company for ideas to turn business around because shipping was in decline. They came up with the idea to start moving tourists instead of cargo, that is how the idea for the Jungle Cruise came about. The first Jungle Cruise was held on October 1, 1931 and the idea became a successful business model.
Alberta also opened up the Skipper Canteen to feed the travelers from the company's cruises.
